“Home means… an opportunity for family to spend quality time together. It’s a time to appreciate all of our blessings and a day to remind us of how fortunate we are to be alive another year. The best part of Thanksgiving is that you get to feast on a wonderful meal while watching football, my ultimate favorite! For as long as I can remember, my mom has been in charge of the cooking on Thanksgiving. Showing up to her house was always a must! She is a fabulous cook and I would like to think that her cooking skills have been passed down to me. This year I plan on cooking and hosting my own thanksgiving in my own home. Now that I am a mother, I would like my daughter to share the same kinds of memories as I did when I was a little girl. I’m looking forward to cooking all the traditional dishes; turkey, ham, mash potatoes, sweet potatoes green bean casserole and pumpkin pie. A side dish that I am excited to recreate is my moms carrot salad. Its been a family tradition for over 30 years. I really hope to see her face light up when I tell her that I’ve made it.” – Jeanette Lawson

“Home means… family, friends and the many thankful blessings we have everyday. Those
special moments when we gather around the table with our loved ones, preparing to feast on the food before us and share our love for one another.”             – Christine Earl
