Home Means…Being Ready for Violence

It’s a tough world. News headlines are often hard to see and they seem to make us cringe and cry more and more. It’s not a far-out thought to take extra precautions in the event of a violent attack.

This is not meant to be a sad post because there are ways to be more prepared for violence!

One of my favorite spots around town is hosting an incredibly important and informational class on responding to violence.

Reno Guns and Range is a shooting range and training facility on Market Street in Reno. They are hosting a class in partnership with R.E.M.S.A. to teach the community how to best apply simple survival strategies and basic medical techniques when confronted with a surprising, chaotic and lethal event in a public environment.

It’s not just an active shooter situation, it’s any traumatic event such as a car wreck.

I spoke with the instructor, Ken, on what they will teach…
