Home Means… Getting in the Spooky Spirit

In my opinion, the holidays are the BEST time of year. From food to decorations, you really can’t beat the sights, sounds and smells that come with Fall and Winter. But there is one holiday that, for some, is far spook-perior than the others. I’m of course talking about Halloween!

Painting Pumpkins
Last year for Halloween, I used mod podge to add gold glitter to my white and burlap themed pumpkin. My boyfriend got creative, and turned his pumpkin into a creepy eyeball.

Whether you decorate your house as a terrifying crime scene (my parents used to decorate our house like this growing up), break out the arts and crafts or dress up to go trick-or-treating, Halloween is a holiday that’s fun for all ages. For the first time last year I painted pumpkins instead of carving them. Not only did it provide creative freedom (I’m much better with glitter and paint than carving), the pumpkins lasted for several weeks, allowing us to enjoy them well into November!

With Halloween just a few days away, here are some bewitching pumpkin decorating ideas you and your family can enjoy this weekend. You can also use mod podge, glitter, push pins to decorate. Find more Good Housekeeping carving ideas at http://bit.ly/1k7wo1D.
